Recharge after a day in the castles and set off again the next day with a full battery.
If you already drive an electric vehicle, or if you're planning to rent one upon your arrival in France, Château d’Hodebert has you covered. With fuel prices constantly rising, exploring the Loire Valley by electric vehicle has become one of the most sensible choices, and Hodebert makes it easy: our private charging station is available on-site. You can explore freely during the day and return each evening knowing your car will be fully charged the next morning.
No detours. No waiting. No worries about autonomy. Just the pleasure of being there.

A convenient base in the heart of the Loire Valley with electric charging facilities
The Château d’Hodebert is ideally located in the heart of one of the most beautiful regions of France, within reasonable distance of the major sites of the Loire Valley:
• Azay-le-Rideau 35 min
• Villandry 40 min
• Chenonceau 50 min
• Chambord 55 min
• La Chartre-sur-le-Loir (village des antiquaires, canoë sur le Loir) — 15 min
Spend your days strolling among Renaissance châteaux, getting lost in vineyards, and following leisurely country roads. Then return to Hodebert, plug in your car, and let the evening unfold at its own pace: a walk in the 63-hectare park, a glass of Bourgueil on the terrace. The next morning, your battery will be fully charged. And so will you.
Are you arriving by plane? Consider renting an electric car.
Many of our guests arrive by rental car from one of the four airports that naturally serve the region: Tours Val de Loire (37 km), Nantes Atlantique (approximately 2 hours), Paris-Charles de Gaulle (approximately 2 hours 30 minutes), or Paris-Orly (approximately 2 hours 15 minutes). If you are traveling from abroad and plan to rent a car, this is the perfect opportunity to opt for an electric vehicle, as all these airport hubs offer a wide selection of electric models. The round trip from Hodebert to Chambord is approximately 110 km. To Chenonceau and back, it's about 100 km. These distances are perfectly suited to the range of any modern electric vehicle, and with a full charge waiting for you each night at the château, your range is completely reset between each day of exploration. It's a particularly comfortable way to travel: pick up your car at the airport, drive to Hodebert, and from then on, your car is in good hands. All you have to do now is enjoy.

Are you arriving by train? Tours and Le Mans are just a stone's throw away.
The TGV will take you to Tours in under an hour from Paris-Montparnasse, and to Le Mans in just a little longer. From both stations, rental agencies offer electric vehicles; simply pick up your car upon arrival and reach Hodebert in about an hour from Tours, or slightly less from Le Mans. The journey itself is a wonderful introduction to the gentle charm of the Touraine region: peaceful roads, verdant valleys, and the feeling that life slows down as you approach. Once at the château, you plug in, unpack your bags, and Touraine is yours to explore.
Vineyards, villages and quiet roads, all within easy reach
Beyond the grand châteaux, the countryside around Hodebert holds delightful surprises for those who take the time to explore it. The vineyards of Bourgueil and Vouvray are nearby. The medieval town of Vendôme, the antique shops of La Chartre-sur-le-Loir, the Romanesque churches scattered throughout the Sarthe region—these are just some of the discoveries not found in every guidebook, and for which an electric vehicle is perfectly suited. Quiet roads. No noise. No smells. Just the passing scenery. And when you return in the late afternoon, perhaps with a few bottles of Vouvray in the trunk, perhaps having lingered a little at a winery, you plug in the car, and the Touraine region does what it has always done best: it slows you down, gently, and puts you at ease.
