The Spirit of the Park Room

The most beautiful room in the house

If I had to choose just one, it would be this one. The Parc Room is the brightest and most airy, offering the most beautiful view of the estate. With its four windows providing a nearly 360-degree view of the park, it occupies a unique spot in the château. As soon as you step inside, you’ll understand why it bears this name.

Four windows, a 360-degree view

The real highlight of this room is its four windows. Each one offers a different view of the park, creating an almost complete panoramic vista. In the morning, light floods the room from the very first hours of the day. In the afternoon, it gently shifts from one window to the next. And in the evening, you can watch the sun set over the trees from your bed.

It’s a room that feels airy and open. The view stretches far and wide. It would be hard to find a brighter space in an older home.

The Canvas of Tours: Le Manach

The walls are adorned with a fabric from Tours by Le Manach, an exceptional manufacturer based in Tours since 1860 and now part of the Pierre Frey group. This fabric, in very soft shades of green, was chosen for its understated elegance and its commitment to French craftsmanship: traditional weaving, plant-based dyes, and hand-finished details.

The result is a luxurious fabric with an incomparable texture that lends the room a soft, refined atmosphere. The chosen shades of green naturally echo the park visible through the windows, creating a sense of continuity that feels entirely natural.

Exceptional Louis XVI furniture

The Park Room features some of the château’s most beautiful pieces of furniture. An authentic Louis XVI chest of drawers, with clean lines and gilded bronze hardware. A Louis XVI drop-leaf desk, an elegant and functional piece that conceals secret drawers and ingenious compartments behind its folding top.

The 17th-century oak castle cabinet

In one corner of the room stands a 17th-century solid oak wardrobe. Its dimensions are unique—those generous proportions found only in stately homes, where linen sheets, tapestries, and ceremonial garments were once stored.

The oak has taken on that deep, dark patina that only three centuries can bestow. The wardrobe makes a quiet statement without overwhelming the room – on the contrary, it anchors it.

Two hours from Paris

All our rooms are tastefully decorated, but the Parc Room stands out from the rest. It is the room that enjoys the most natural light and the best views. It is the room where you can unwind most easily. Just two hours from Paris, it offers a rare luxury: silence, space, and time that passes slowly.

Organic breakfast

An organic breakfast is provided. It is served in the dining room with all the refinement and art de vivre of the French. Most of the dishes are prepared in Hodebert’s kitchen by the hostess using high-quality organic ingredients. The organic spelt bread is made according to a recipe by Saint Hildegard of Bingen using non-hybridised spelt flour. The jams are made with organic cane sugar and fruit from Hodebert or neighbouring orchards. Organic cheeses from neighbouring farms, homemade organic yoghurt with orange blossom… and other seasonal delicacies.
