We provide 2 electric bicycles for our castle guests, for you to go shopping in the nearby villages without taking your car, or simply explore the beautiful surrounding areas. We also land you other bicycles for your rides around. For the Maison des Ecuries and Maison de la Grille « La Boîte à vélo » can deliver bicycles to you on site at +33 6 03 06 72 62.

Our equipment like the trimmer, the mill, the blower, and the chainsaw are electric. The weeding is done manually with a hot air weeder.
The grinding of the plants reused as mulching on our flowerbeds gives us the chance to limit the growth of unwanted vegetation, evaporation, packing, runoff and inhibit the development of pest such as slugs.

For the past two years, we stopped the hunt on the 63 hectares of the parc to let deer, hares, rabbits, boars, pheasant, and the countless birds (ducks, herons, chickadees, woodpecker, owls, and of course several bats’ species that the Ligue de Protection des Oiseaux (League for the protection of birds) comes to identify once in a while. To that, we can add our different domestic animals (horses, donkeys, cows, ducks, chickens, dogs, and cats) who take part in the family’s happiness.

Every Hodebert’s furniture and most of the objects are antique. It is a philosophical value for us who like to give items several lives. Most of them either come from our families or from auction sales, antiquarians, or second-hand dealers. Most of the time, they are in a far better quality than those produced today and are made of healthier materials (without neither glue, resin nor dye). Our old mansions are built with local and noble materials (stone, oak, limestone, natural slate, ancient bricks, …). All of these materials take part in the great houses’ aeration.
