Apr\u00e8s la famille Moreau, originaire du Poitou, Hodebert est achet\u00e9 par Henri de Codosny en 1648. Ce dernier, d\u2019origine italienne, dont la famille est arriv\u00e9e en France avec Marie de M\u00e9dicis \u00e9tait conseiller et ma\u00eetre d\u2019h\u00f4tel du roi Louis XIV. Il se marie avec Marie Dunoyer,\u00a0 fille du bailli de Saint Christophe. De cette p\u00e9riode date la partie centrale et le premier pavillon au nord d\u2019Hodebert. Jean Dunoyer, son neveu, rach\u00e8te Hodebert en 1674 pour rester dans cette famille jusqu\u2019en 1794.\u00a0 Une centaine d\u2019ann\u00e9e plus tard, Claude Dunoyer, chanoine de la basilique Saint Martin agrandit le ch\u00e2teau et le modifie pour le remettre au go\u00fbt du jour. En 1794, la propri\u00e9t\u00e9 est achet\u00e9e par Alexandre-Fran\u00e7ois-Pierre Gouin, issu d\u2019une grande famille de banquiers et n\u00e9gociants de Tours qui compte plusieurs maires. Son propre fils sera ministre de l\u2019agriculture sous Louis Philippe. Il revend Hodebert en 1808 \u00e0 Louis-Fran\u00e7ois-de-Sales de Sarc\u00e9 et son \u00e9pouse Charlotte Fran\u00e7oise n\u00e9e Fontaine de Bir\u00e9.\u00a0 Ils auront trois enfants qui habiteront tous Hodebert et qui d\u2019un commun accord l\u00e8gueront\u00a0 Hodebert \u00e0 leur neveu Robert Roullet de la Bouillerie.<\/p>\n<p>Les Sarc\u00e9 agrandiront consid\u00e9rablement le domaine d\u2019Hodebert en achetant l\u2019abbaye de la Clart\u00e9 Dieu, de nombreuses terres, des fermes, des moulins ainsi que le ch\u00e2teau du Breuil sur le vallon d\u2019en face. Ils feront de tr\u00e8s importants travaux sur le ch\u00e2teau et reconstruiront la totalit\u00e9 des communs avec un grand souci d\u2019harmonie et d\u2019homog\u00e9n\u00e9it\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Robert de la Bouillerie quant \u00e0 lui, entreprend dans les ann\u00e9es 1920 des travaux importants de confort. Il fait installer le chauffage central, l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 et 7 salles de bain.<\/p>\n<p>En 2004, Hodebert est \u00e0 vendre et nous d\u00e9cidons de le racheter \u00e0 notre famille. Nous quittons Paris avec notre fille ain\u00e9e et nous nous installons en Touraine afin d\u2019entreprendre une lourde et longue restauration dont Hodebert avait besoin. Il n\u2019est toutefois pas impossible qu\u2019un b\u00e2timent plus ancien, dont il n\u2019est rest\u00e9 aucune trace, ait \u00e9t\u00e9 construit auparavant.<\/p>\n<p>La partie la plus ancienne, le corps de logis central \u00e0 trois trav\u00e9es et \u00e0 comble \u00e9lev\u00e9 perc\u00e9 de trois lucarnes, semble dater de la fin du XVIIe si\u00e8cle. De style classique, ce grand corps de b\u00e2timent est sans doute d\u00fb \u00e0 Jean Dunoyer (1633-1702), bailli (juge) de Saint-Christophe \u00e0 partir de 1669 et acqu\u00e9reur de la seigneurie d\u2019Hodebert en 1675. Les deux pavillons \u00e0 une trav\u00e9e situ\u00e9s aux deux extr\u00e9mit\u00e9s du corps de logis principal doivent remonter quant \u00e0 eux au troisi\u00e8me tiers du XVIIIe si\u00e8cle\u00a0; on les doit sans doute \u00e0 Jean-Jacques Dunoyer (1720-1793), \u00e9galement bailli de Saint-Christophe, lequel s\u2019est install\u00e9 d\u00e9finitivement \u00e0 Hodebert apr\u00e8s s\u2019\u00eatre s\u00e9par\u00e9 de sa seigneurie de Gesnes. Enfin, les deux autres pavillons \u00e0 une trav\u00e9e qui prolongent les deux pr\u00e9c\u00e9dents datent de la fin du XVIII.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019habitation principale est entour\u00e9e de nombreuses servitudes. En effet, le ch\u00e2teau d\u2019Hodebert a toujours \u00e9t\u00e9 au c\u0153ur d\u2019un important domaine agricole compos\u00e9 de jardins, vignes, garenne, bois-taillis, pr\u00e9s, terres labourables et non labourables. Au XVIIIe si\u00e8cle, on trouve ainsi dans les actes la mention de plusieurs caves creus\u00e9es dans le coteau tout proche (accueillant notamment un four \u00e0 pain, un pressoir et du vin) et de plusieurs b\u00e2timents d\u2019exploitation traditionnels (grange, \u00e9curie pour les chevaux, \u00e9tables aux vaches et aux brebis, \u00ab\u00a0toit\u00a0\u00bb pour les porcs). Avant 1834, un b\u00e2timent \u00e0 un \u00e9tage servant de biblioth\u00e8que, situ\u00e9 au sud-ouest du ch\u00e2teau, ainsi qu\u2019une remise \u00e0 voitures, situ\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019ouest, sont \u00e9galement construits. Par ailleurs, des \u00e9curies, une orangerie et des serres, plac\u00e9es en contrebas du ch\u00e2teau, sont b\u00e2ties au cours des ann\u00e9es 1870. Le porche couvert \u00e0 la Mansard a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9difi\u00e9 en 1924, situ\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019angle nord du ch\u00e2teau, il communique avec la cour des communs. Signalons enfin qu\u2019une chapelle domestique a \u00e9t\u00e9 am\u00e9nag\u00e9e dans le ch\u00e2teau en 1891 avec autorisation de l\u2019Ev\u00eaque de Tours \u00e0 la demande de S\u00e9bastien de la Bouillerie.<\/p>\n<p>En mati\u00e8re d\u2019ornement, une avenue plant\u00e9e d\u2019ormeaux (aujourd\u2019hui des tilleuls) est signal\u00e9e dans les sources d\u00e8s le d\u00e9but du XIXe si\u00e8cle ; une fois pass\u00e9 un superbe portail, celle-ci donne sur une tr\u00e8s vaste cour d\u2019honneur. Sur son c\u00f4t\u00e9 nord, on peut y remarquer un cadran solaire peint avec la devise \u00ab ETSPE ET METU \u00bb (\u00ab Espoir et crainte \u00bb). Apr\u00e8s Henri de Codosny, conseiller et ma\u00eetre d\u2019h\u00f4tel du roi, le bien entre dans la famille Dunoyer en 1675\u00a0; il le restera jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la R\u00e9volution. En 1794, la propri\u00e9t\u00e9 est achet\u00e9e par Alexandre-Fran\u00e7ois-Pierre Gouin, un n\u00e9gociant de Tours, qui la revend en 1808 \u00e0 Louis-Fran\u00e7ois-de-Sales de Sarc\u00e9 ; son fils Eug\u00e8ne Victor de Sarc\u00e9 l\u00e9guera Hodebert \u00e0 son neveu Robert Roullet de la Bouillerie.\u00a0 En 2004, H\u00e9lie et Ivana de la Bouillerie le rach\u00e8te \u00e0 leur famille afin de poursuivre cette aventure familiale.<\/p>\n<h4>Un h\u00f4te prestigieux \u00e0 Hodebert<\/h4>\n<p>Au d\u00e9but du XVIIe si\u00e8cle, la pr\u00e9v\u00f4t\u00e9 d\u2019O\u00eb \u00e0 Saint-Paterne, d\u00e9pendant du chapitre de Saint-Martin de Tours, tenait ses assises \u00e0 Hodebert. Le 23 novembre 1620, Honorat de Bueil, le c\u00e9l\u00e8bre po\u00e8te, y est traduit pour les faits suivants\u00a0: Racan se pr\u00e9tendait le fondateur de l\u2019\u00e9glise paroissiale de Saint-Paterne au pr\u00e9texte qu\u2019il avait, en tant que seigneur de la Roche, droit de litres (ou de bandeaux fun\u00e9raires) dans celle-ci. Apr\u00e8s jugement, le sieur de Bueil est contraint de reconna\u00eetre qu\u2019il devait foi et hommage lige au pr\u00e9v\u00f4t d\u2019O\u00eb et faire serment de soumission. Ce dont il s\u2019ex\u00e9cuta sur les \u00ab\u00a0Saints \u00c9vangiles suivant la formule prescrite par la coutume\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n<h4>Un polissoir fixe du n\u00e9olithique<\/h4>\n<p>Situ\u00e9 sur une terrasse entre deux confluents, le lieu d\u2019Hodebert est habit\u00e9 depuis fort longtemps. Un polissoir fixe (destin\u00e9 \u00e0 lisser les outils par frottement) en t\u00e9moigne\u00a0; longtemps rest\u00e9 inconnu, il a fallu attendre 1979 pour que des pr\u00e9historiens le visitent et en confirment l\u2019authenticit\u00e9. Long de 3,60 m, large de 2,40 m et \u00e9pais d\u20191,50 m, l\u2019\u00e9norme bloc de gr\u00e8s \u00e9oc\u00e8ne porte sur sa face sup\u00e9rieure dix stries de polissage de 20 \u00e0 50 cm de longueur et onze cuvettes. My husband and I spent two nights and were overwhelmed by the hospitality extended to us throughout our stay.   Ivana was a gracious, knowledgeable and very attentive host from the moment we arrived giving us advice for dining in the area as well as touring the vast property.  Morning breakfasts were incredible with five-star table setting in a beautiful dining room.  Accommodation was very comfortable in our king size bed with sitting room.   Exceptionally clean and very character full room and chateau. This beautiful, magnificent, historic chateau is in a very tranquil setting.  We dined nightly on the terrace with bread, cheese, wine, fruit &amp; pastries that we purchased locally.  The chateau has a lovely wine cellar to select from, with all price ranges available.  Our hosts are charming people who go out of their way to make you feel special.  The breakfast, featuring home made breads along with an excellent selection of cheeses, jams, some lovely fruit was a perfect way to begin our day.  Our stay at the chateau will live forever in our memories as one of the special time in our lives.
